Last jedi

It used to be there was nothing on TV in the summer. But then streaming happened and peak TV happened and here we are, an endless buffet of entertainment before us. It is a time of content, of consuming content, of, perhaps, finding contentment in the content.

Here’s everything coming in June to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, HBO Now and Showtime.

“The Departed” (June 1)

“The Break With Michelle Wolf” (June 3)

The frizzy-haired and fearless comedian who ruffled a few feathers at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner debuts her new Comedy series, with new episodes dropping every Sunday.

“Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok” (June 5)

Last year’s massive Marvel hit — the third “Thor” movie and probably Marvel’s first movie to be a pure, 100-percent comedy.

“The Staircase” (June 8)

Before there was “Serial” and “Making a Murderer” there was the monumental true crime documentary series “The Staircase,” which investigates in thrilling detail whether Michael Peterson murdered his wife. If you haven’t seen this before, be careful. Once you start watching it, you want be able to stop.

“In Bruges” (June 16)

I’m decidedly not a fan of “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri,” but I do love writer/director Martin McDonagh’s earlier film, the pitch-black crime comedy “In Bruges,” starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson as a couple of irredeemable hitmen who you can’t help but root for anyway.

“Star Wars: The Last Jedi” (June 26)

I know this movie has its detractors, but (I’m not sorry) they’re wrong. “Last Jedi” is the best “Star Wars” movie since “Empire.”

“GLOW,” Season 2 (June 29)

The extremely enjoyable dramedy series, set in the world of ’80s women’s wrestling, returns for its second season. Watch this. Watch the hell out of it.
