Some Local Omaha malls are paring back their Thanksgiving hours. Westroads and Oak View Malls will both open on Thanksgiving at 6 p.m., but will close at midnight and reopen at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. In past years some Omaha malls have stayed open all night.

After carving the turkey and wrapping up the leftovers, thousands of people in the Omaha area flocked to local malls and shopping centers for what’s becoming its own American tradition: shopping on Thanksgiving
Big-box stores like Target and Walmart, on the other hand, aren’t likely to pull back on Thanksgiving any time soon. Both will open at 6 p.m. on the holiday.
