Ten students take part in eating the finished meal after a class at Provisions by The Grey Plume.

Provisions, The Grey Plume restaurant's retail arm that sold canned goods and other house-made items, is closed.

The store, which also had a private dining room area, was at 3157 Farnam St., down the street from the main restaurant, which is at 220 S. 31st Ave. Provisions played host to many cooking classes and sold jams, butters, coffee, pickled items and other food and kitchen items.

Chef and owner Clayton Chapman said the restaurant has been remodeled to accommodate the retail products, cooking classes and private dining that were at the store.

"This was an intentional decision on my part to really focus on the things that I wanted to do," he said in a text message, "the restaurant and classes."

The retail items are also available in a Provisions online store that is part of The Grey Plume's website.

He said instead of manufacturing the retail items at the restaurant, he has partnered with local companies to produce the products using his specifications and local ingredients.
