We’re modeling our Omaha 38 after the Eater 38, a series of lists that focuses on cities around the world and aims to answer a basic question: “Can you recommend a restaurant?”
With the help of many reader suggestions, we aimed to cover the Omaha area's vast array of cuisines, price points and tastes. The list includes fine dining, dive bars, steak, local favorites and cuisines from many parts of the world. Restaurants must have been open for at least six months to be considered.
The essentials list is not a review of any of the restaurants listed. Rather, it’s a list of restaurants that define the Omaha area’s food scene.
The restaurants are listed by location, from east to west.
