Several restaurants in Omaha and elsewhere are recognized in the annual Wine Spectator magazine Restaurant Awards. 

Omaha winners include 801 Chophouse, Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar, Le Voltaire, Monarch Prime & Bar, Spencers for Steaks & Chops and V. Mertz. In Lincoln, winners include The Green Gateau, The Oven and Venue. And Kahill's Chophouse, in South Sioux City, also got an award.

Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards are judged on three levels: the Award of Excellence, the Best of Award of Excellence and the Grand Award, with 2,447; 1,244; and 100 winners this year in each respective category.
