Dundee Theater

A new restaurant is coming to the Dundee Theater.

Lola’s Cafe plans to take over the lobby restaurant space inside the Dundee Theater formerly occupied by Kitchen Table Central, which closed earlier this summer.

Film Streams announced its new tenant Sunday night at its Feature event at the Holland Center.

Lola’s, according to an ad in the evening’s program, will serve espresso, wine, house-made bread, charcuterie, salads and sandwiches.

Co-owner Clare Watson Bartolomei said the restaurant will be open by the end of September. Among the menu items, she said, will be egg sandwiches served on brioche and frittata. Breakfast and lunch will be served from a counter until 4 p.m. In the evening, the restaurant will have table service for a menu of charcuterie, small plates, wine, beer and cocktails.

As part of the change, Film Streams also plans to add an outdoor patio. The main entrance on the north side will be closed temporarily and the outdoor space will be renovated, said Casey Logan, Film Streams’ deputy director. The first phase of the patio renovation will take about three weeks, and should be complete right before Lola’s opens for business.

Logan said Film Streams is looking forward to the restaurant’s all-day service approach and its goals for transitioning between day and evening service for guests.

The restaurant is owned by a new restaurant group that includes Bartolomei; executive chef Corina Figueroa; Stephen Bartolomei, who is the baker; and Philip Schaffart, who also runs Blackstone Meatball and The Sports Hall in the Blackstone District and Pageturners Lounge in Dundee.
