Kitchen Table's Dundee location to close

Kitchen Table plans to close its location inside Film Streams' Dundee Theater.

In a Facebook post, owners Colin and Jessica Duggan said they plan to refocus their efforts on the restaurant's original downtown location, which will remain open at 1415 Farnam St.

Casey Logan, Film Streams' deputy director, said though he can't announce anything yet, "plans are coming together for a new cafe partner to begin operations in the space."

In March, Kitchen Table started a GoFundMe to try to  raise $80,000. They later lowered the fundraiser's goal to $60,000. They received just over $15,000 in donations, which Jessica Duggan said they will use to "support and secure" the downtown location.

There is no set closure date for the central location.

Logan said the theater is working closely with Kitchen Table to help its transition to a single location go smoothly.

"We want the best for Jessica and Colin and their original downtown location," he said.

The Dundee Theater and Kitchen Table's second location opened in December 2017. The restaurant's original downtown location opened four years earlier.
