Why Don't We will play Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln.

The next big thing is Why Don’t We.

In the vein of boy bands past — Jonas Brothers, One Direction and others who were once at the top of the pop world but whose star has since faded — the five-member pop group is currently the object of affection for pre-teens everywhere.

And local fans can celebrate. Why Don’t We will play Lincoln’s Pinnacle Bank Arena on Aug. 14.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday via Ticketmaster.

Jonah Marais, Corbyn Besson, Daniel Seavey, Jack Avery and Zach Herron formed Why Don’t We in 2016. Their debut album, “8 Letters,” was released last year, and the fast-rising boy band has enjoyed massive success.

An arena tour crossing the U.S. in the spring has already sold out several dates, and the group added a second leg this summer that includes its Nebraska concert.

If you don’t know Why Don’t We, ask one of your preteen children or nieces and nephews. They probably know the band well, contributing to the millions of views on YouTube for songs such as “8 Letters,” “Talk” and “Trust Fund Baby.”
