Singer Conrad Birdie has been drafted (think Elvis Presley), and as a publicity stunt, he’s visiting a small Ohio town before he ships out. The town’s teens, predictably, go nuts. Denise Putman directs a cast made up of young people.

The lovable ogre made famous in the 2001 animated film now is starring in a musical. Families will enjoy the story that takes Shrek on an adventure featuring many familiar fairy-tale characters. Jeanine Tesori wrote the music and David Lindsay-Abaire wrote the book for this eight-time Tony Award nominee. Kimberly Faith Hickman is director.
