Cafe Costa, a new coffee bar on the west end of the Della Costa space in Midtown Crossing, is open.

The new space will serve coffee, tea, smoothies and pastries, including cookies, scones and croissants created by pastry chef Mandy Vorthmann. The shop also will offer pints of homemade ice cream. Eventually, Cafe Costa will serve breakfast items, including egg sandwiches and crepes, and to-go lunch items.

The space, which officially opened Thursday, has seating and couches for customers. Hours are daily 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Co-owner Ron Samuelson said brunch service will continue on weekends at Della Costa.

Both Cafe Costa and Della Costa are at 220 S. 31st Ave.
