WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: SOUTH DAKOTA STATE AT UNO

Scouting South Dakota State: The Jackrabbits sit a half-game behind rival South Dakota in the Summit League title race heading into their second meeting with UNO. South Dakota State held off the Mavericks the first time, 68-58, in Brookings, South Dakota, last month. Madison Guebert drained six 3-pointers in that victory and paced her team with 23 points. The Jackrabbits are ranked eighth in this week's Mid-Major Top 25, the highest of any Summit team. Two of their losses came to No. 3 Notre Dame and No. 5 Maryland. South Dakota State also owns a win over previously ranked DePaul. It is 6-1 on the road this season.

Scouting UNO: The Mavericks open a three-game homestand with back-to-back games against the top two teams in the Summit League this week. UNO sits sixth in the conference standings after dropping its second meeting with Western Illinois last weekend. The Mavs led that game at the half then were outscored 52-26 by the Leathernecks over the final two periods. UNO was only 1 for 17 from 3-point range in the loss and was outscored by Western Illinois by 33 from beyond the arc. In its first meeting with South Dakota State, Remy Davenport was limited to four shots, none from 3-point range. That was after she had scored 50 points as the Mavs won their first two games of league play.
