People living in the Elkhorn area are closer to a place to take their recyclables starting today. The City of Omaha and its recycling processor, Firstar Fiber, are set to open a new recycling drop-off site at 20801 Elkhorn Drive. A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 10 a.m. There are four other recycling drop-off locations in Omaha:

A parking lot at North 75th and Corby Streets

A parking lot at the northeast corner of 26th Avenue and Douglas Street

River City Recycling, 6404 S. 60th St.

Firstar Fiber, 10330 I St. The City Council approved a new contract with Firstar in December. That required the company to put in the new drop-off spot.
