Plethora of points

Points — and lopsided wins — came in bunches Friday night.

Start with Bellevue West, which led Bellevue East 69-0 at halftime and ended up with an 81-0 victory. The second-ranked Thunderbirds have won their five games this season by an average of 48 points.

Norfolk, No. 9 in Class A, rolled to a 59-0 win over Omaha Bryan. In Class B, No. 1 Omaha Skutt cruised past Blair 56-0. Blair handed Skutt a 45-28 loss last season before the SkyHawks went on to win the state title.

In Eight Man-2, No. 1 Anselmo-Merna nearly reached the century mark as last year's state runner-up finished with a 95-18 win over Pleasanton.

Timberwolves win 30 straight

Exeter-Milligan, ranked second in Eight Man-2, extended its winning streak to 30 games with a 16-14 win against Giltner. The Timberwolves play two ranked teams, No. 9 Lawrence-Nelson and No. 4 Falls City Sacred Heart, the next two weeks.— Gene Schinzel
