Most of the fence around the M's Pub building came down Friday.
The Mayor's Office said the only fenced area remaining is 11th Street from Howard Street to the alley north of the building, and Howard Street from 11th Street partway to 12th Street.
The alley north of the building is open to eastbound traffic but not trash service.
The streets around the building had been closed since a Jan. 9 explosion and fire.
Nearby business owners have said that they've lost business since the major Old Market intersection has been closed.
M's Pub, Nouvelle Eve and five apartments were destroyed in the fire. A building next door that housed condos and businesses had water and smoke damage.
This week Mercer Management, which owns the building, hired contractors to remove the awning.
City officials have said the awning and the north wall are the two most unstable parts of the M's building.
Mark Mercer, head of family-owned Mercer Management, which developed most of the Old Market and owns the M's building, has said he wants to save the building, including the north wall, according to the city. The city says the north wall is structurally unsound.
