WINNEBAGO, Neb. — A 28-year-old Winnebago man will serve 46 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.

Steven Rice was sentenced Thursday by Judge Lyle Strom.

There is no parole in the federal parole system. After completing his sentence, Rice will begin a 20-year term of supervised release.

Rice engaged in sexual contact with the girl on the Winnebago Indian Reservation. The abuse was reported to a school counselor the following day.

The case was investigated by the FBI and the Bureau of Indian Affairs.
