Born in St. Louis, MO. Served in WWII from 19431946 in U.S. Army 70th Div. 276 Reg. in support of the Battle of the Bulge. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Frieda Gessert of St. Louis, MO, and brother, Rev. G. Herbert Gessert of St. Charles, MO. Survived by wife, Virginia Grifin Gessert; son, Steven F. Gessert (Lilian); stepgrandson, Christobal Villarroel Parra (Elise) of San Francisco, CA; son, John C. Gessert (Susan); granddaughters, Greta L. and Ingrid G. Gessert of Lincoln, NE; brother, Rev. Robert A. Gessert of Frederick, MD; sister-in-law, Mrs. Jacquelin R. Gessert of St. Charles, MO; many wonderful nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.

MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, Jan. 29th at 10:30 am at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 109 No. 18th St., Omaha 68102, with inurnment in Trinity Columbarium. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral or to Parkinson's Disease Basic Science Research c/o University of Neb., 2285 S. 67 St., Suite 200, Omaha 68106.
