Kudos to Nebraska's governor and three congressmen for their unity in supporting a huge Nebraska asset — Offutt Air Force Base. The base needs a new runway, and federal emergency officials have deemed river levees protecting the facility inadequate. Gov. Pete Ricketts and Reps. Jeff Fortenberry, Brad Ashford and Adrian Smith make up a task force that's working to win key improvements and guarantee the future of a base that generates more than $1 billion in economic activity for Nebraska. As the governor said, "We need to be doing all we can to secure that mission."
