Three flights into Omaha's Eppley Airfield have been canceled for today, a spokesman said Sunday.

The blizzard on the East Coast disrupted travel across the country. Airlines canceled more than 10,000 flights for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, according to FlightAware.com. Five flights arriving at or departing from Eppley Airfield were canceled Sunday, said Phil Jensen, operations supervisor.

According to Dennis Messina, another operations supervisor at Eppley, the three flights for today canceled so far are Delta Airlines' flight to Omaha that was set to leave New York at 6:29 a.m.; United Airlines' flight that was set to depart Newark, New Jersey, at 11:32 a.m.; and United's flight that was set to leave Newark at 4:42 p.m.

Jensen and Messina said people should check in with their airline. Jensen added that it would be wise to arrive at the airport earlier than normal because it will be busy.

Sunday, United's flights to and from Newark were canceled, Jensen said. Also canceled were American Airlines' nonstop flights to and from Charlotte, North Carolina, and a Delta flight from New York's LaGuardia Airport.
