Rollergirls host beer games at Bushwackers


and Bushwackers Saloon will host a bunch of beer games on Saturday.

The bar, at 7401 Main St. in Ralston, will have games beginning at 1 p.m. and going until 7 p.m.

Celebrate Germany with two days of Oktoberfest

The German-American Society hosts a two-day-long Oktoberfest celebration this weekend.

The 131st German Day Celebration includes live music by the Barry Boyce Band as well as a beer garden and select German foods on Friday.

Saturday, the fest continues with an extensive German menu, more music, children's games, souvenirs, wine tastings and more. Participate in the men's and women's beer drinking contest at 7:30 p.m. The fest will be held at 3717 S. 120th St. from 5 p.m. to midnight Friday and noon to midnight Saturday. Entry is $5. Buy (or win!) tickets to Haunted Hangover event

Tickets for local dive bar blog Hit That Dive's Haunted Hangover event go on sale Oct. 1 at midnight.

The haunted bar crawl cruises through a number of Old Market spots that have ghostly history, including O'Connor's Irish Pub, Brickway Brewery & Distillery, The Dubliner and T. Henery's Pub. Paranormal teams will accompany the crawl.

Tickets for the Nov. 1 event may be won in advance by going to The Village Bar in Ralston on Wednesdays until Oct. 1 and filling out a raffle ticket from 7 p.m. to midnight. Two tickets will be given out each week at midnight

Give some smoky, peaty single malt scotch a taste

Sample some scotch this weekend with The Knights of Columbus Roundtable of St. Barnabas Church.

Single malt scotches of all sorts will be sampled in the church undercroft, located at 40th and Davenport Streets, at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Smoky and peaty scotches will be sampled along with more mild ones.
