Omaha South coach Bruce Chubick didn't miss a game, despite undergoing a heart procedure this month.

Grand Island (4-20) at No. 1 Omaha South (23-1), 7 p.m.: Grand Island ended an eight-game losing streak by beating Bellevue East on Friday. South coach Bruce Chubick didn't miss a game though he underwent a heart procedure after the Packers played Lincoln Southeast on Feb. 16.

Omaha Burke (11-11) at Omaha Westside (13-9), 5 p.m.: Class A No. 9 Burke got to .500 for the first time since Dec. 5 by winning 55-51 at Westside last Saturday. Burke has won five straight. Westside dropped both games last weekend.


Omaha Bryan (3-19) at No. 9 Fremont (21-2), 7 p.m.: Fremont's win total is a school record. The Tigers last won a district title in 1999.

Bellevue West (12-10) at Lincoln Southeast (11-12), 7 p.m.: Southeast beat the Thunderbirds at home 68-64 Jan. 28. West is on a three-game winning streak. Southeast has lost three straight — to Fremont, South and Omaha Creighton Prep — by an average of 21 points.


North Platte (3-21) at No. 2 Omaha Creighton Prep (21-3), 2:30 p.m.: North Platte absorbed a 76-29 loss at Prep Jan. 16.

Omaha North (10-12) at Lincoln Pius X (14-7), 2:30 p.m.: Pius coach Ray Forycki picked up his 300th win last week. The Thunderbolts are 2-2 against Class A teams. North last played Pius in the 1968-69 season.


Omaha Benson (4-17) at No. 3 Papillion-La Vista (19-4), 6 p.m.: Benson is on an eight-game losing streak that started with a 64-49 home loss to the Monarchs. Papio got tested last Saturday in a 58-56 win at Omaha North.

Lincoln North Star (12-11) at Millard South (15-8), 7 p.m.: On Dec. 12, North Star lost 69-61 at Millard South. The Gators' Triston Simpson, who's signed with South Dakota, is the only current Division I recruit in the senior class. Class A No. 8 Millard South has won seven of eight after a grueling stretch of seven losses in nine games, most against ranked teams.


Lincoln High (4-19) at No. 7 Lincoln East (18-5), 7 p.m.: East, which hasn't had a 19-win season since 1998-99, has won nine of 10. Lincoln High led at halftime when it hosted the Spartans on Feb. 5, but the game became part of an active 12-game skid.

Papillion-La Vista South (9-13) at No. 8 Norfolk (15-8), 4 p.m.: After a 1-8 start, the Titans are 8-5 as their schedule lightened. Norfolk has not been invincible at home this season, losing three times, and is 1-6 against Metro teams.


Lincoln Southwest (7-16) at Millard West (14-8), 7 p.m.: West beat the Silver Hawks 56-42 Feb. 19. Southwest has lost nine of 11.

Millard North (8-14) at Lincoln Northeast (14-9), 6 p.m.: The Class A No. 10 Rockets won 73-63 at Millard North on Feb. 13. That win improved them to 3-5 against the Metro. Millard North is 3-9 while leading scorer Carter Larson has been injured.


South Sioux City (4-17) at No. 4 Omaha Central (16-6), 5 p.m.: The Cardinals haven't played an instate Class A school since losing 70-35 at home to Norfolk on Jan. 9. They lost 6436 Dec. 17 at Central, which has won nine of its past 10.

Omaha Northwest (7-15) at Kearney (16-7), 5 p.m.: The Huskies are the last visitors to Kearney's gym before the school moves to new digs next year. The Bearcats are 5-2 against the Metro.
