The Nebraska Legislature and Gov. Pete Ricketts reached a compromise on a bill to aid poor families. Members of the U.S. Congress asked: "What is this foreign word you use, 'compromise'? Did we pronounce that correctly?"

According to, Mayor Jean Stothert is the hottest mayor in the U.S. among cities with at least 200,000 people. Whoever said being cheap isn't sexy?

We may have lousy streets and poor snow removal, but our mayor is hot.

The Nebraska Attorney General's Office said Mayor Stothert's text messages are public record. This is no way to treat the hottest mayor in the U.S.

Gov. Ricketts said the state has purchased the drugs necessary for lethal injection. He's taking this override of his gas tax veto harder than I'd imagined.

Ricketts vetoed a bill raising the gas tax. It's ironic that it was vetoed by the one person in the state who could afford to pay a higher gas tax.
