Basketball legends Doug McDermott and Anthony Tolliver make up the 2019 Creighton Athletics Hall of Fame class.
The duo will be inducted Aug. 24 at the Omaha Marriott Downtown. They’ll join 33 other former men’s basketball players and coaches in the Creighton Hall of Fame.
McDermott (2010-14) is Creighton’s only three-time first-team All-American and was named the 2014 Naismith Player of the Year. His 3,150 career points rank sixth in NCAA history and he owns Creighton records for points, field goals and 3-point percentage in a season.
McDermott was a first-round draft pick in 2014 and recently completed his fifth season in the NBA. He played 88 games, including the playoffs, primarily off the bench this season for the Indiana Pacers, averaging 7.3 points per game. He has 2,659 points, 726 rebounds and 376 3-pointers in his NBA career.
Tolliver (2003-07) was first-team all-Missouri Valley Conference during his senior season after averaging 13.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.8 blocked shots. Tolliver ranks sixth in program history with 136 blocked shots, 19th with 603 rebounds and 41st with 1,004 points.
He went undrafted in 2007 but completed his 11th NBA season this year. He has played for nine teams during his career and has more than 4,000 points and 2,000 rebounds.
