The Creighton softball team has been picked to finish fifth in the Big East preseason poll.

League coaches unanimously picked St. John’s to claim the title for the second straight year.

With two All-Big East selections returning, Creighton will look to build off of last year’s 22-21 campaign.

Allie Reinhart led the Bluejays with a .396 batting average, 21 hits and 12 RBIs in conference play last season. Behind the plate will be Blake Ringle. Ringle finished second on the team with 10 home runs.

The Bluejays return 15 players from a year ago and seven newcomers.

The poll:

1. St. John’s (7) 49. 2, Villanova (1) 37. 3, DePaul 36. 4, Seton Hall 30. 5, Creighton 29. 6, Butler 21. 7, Providence 14. 8, Georgetown 8.
