Kansas scouting report: The No. 22 Jayhawks are looking for their third straight 5-0 start to a season but will have to do it by winning their first road game. Kansas scored a season-high 76 points Friday in a 17-point victory over Alabama A&M. They Jayhawks had a season-high 20 assists in the game and outrebounded Alabama A&M 49-23. They own a plus-11.3 rebounding margin in their first four games. Carolyn Davis and Angel Goodrich are both on watch lists for three national player of the year awards. Goodrich led the nation in assists last season (7.4 per game) and is averaging 5.5 this season. Davis needs 14 points to reach 1,400 in her career and 42 more to move into 11th place on the KU career scoring chart.

Creighton scouting report: The Bluejays hope their second shot at a Big 12 team goes better than their first. Oklahoma opened the season with a 69-48 win in Omaha, with the Sooners limiting Creighton to 26 percent shooting from the field. The Bluejays have rebounded with wins over South Dakota State and South Dakota. Creighton has not beaten a ranked nonconference opponent since 1999, and has lost its last nine games against rated opponents. Creighton, which has been outrebounded in each of its first three games, must try to find a way to negate some of Kansas’ dominance on the boards. The Bluejays are getting outboarded by an average of 11.3 per game.

Opening tips: Kansas has won the last nine meetings in the series and holds a 23-10 edge. Creighton’s last win over the Jayhawks came in Omaha in 2004. … Kansas coach Bonnie Henrickson recorded her 300th career win over Alabama A&M. … Creighton coach Jim Flanery needs five wins to pass Bruce Rasmussen (196 victories) and become the Bluejays’ all-time leader in wins.
