Former Creighton pitcher Ty Blach had his first start with the Baltimore Orioles against the New York Yankees on Monday.

Former Creighton pitcher Ty Blach had his first start with the Baltimore Orioles on Monday.

Against the New York Yankees, Blach pitched four innings and left the game with two men on base. Reliever Evan Phillips then entered the game.

The right-hander struck out four, but he allowed seven hits, seven runs (six earned) and three walks.

Blach, who was claimed off waivers from the San Francisco Giants, now owns a 13.94 ERA in three major league appearances this season. He was drafted in the fifth round in 2012.
