25 Days of Jays: No. 7 Brittany Witt

Brittany Witt, the reigning Big East libero of the year, will patrol Creighton's back row again.

The World-Herald is counting down the 25 must-see athletes across all Creighton sports to help usher in CU's 2018-19 athletic season, which kicks off Aug. 19.

Brittany Witt

Volleyball  • Junior defensive specialist

The reigning Big East libero of the year will patrol the back row again. She ranked second in the league with 4.24 digs per set with a 34-dig match to help CU win the Big East tournament title game. Witt also led the Bluejays with 29 aces. The Omahan, who starred at Omaha Marian, was an honorable mention All-American and an all-conference first-teamer. But beyond her defensive contributions, Witt’s intangible impact — she always brings high energy and effort — will help the Jays remain on the right track.
