The Big East Conference and Fox Sports announced Friday plans to launch the new Big East Digital Network on September 25, expanding the conference's streaming sports offerings.

The year-round HD digital channel will offer free live streaming of 80 to 100 sporting events annually in addition to the authenticated live streaming of Big East events on Fox Sports networks. 

The network will have its own branded channel within the Fox Sports Go app, with the Big East becoming the first collegiate conference with events available on the mobile platform.

The September launch will feature a women’s soccer match between Georgetown and DePaul as the first event.

"While fans of the conference will be able to see all of our men’s basketball games on television, the Big East Digital Network will allow easy access to other programming valued by our schools, including women’s basketball and Olympic sports competitions and features," said Big East commissioner Val Ackerman in a press release.
