The 2019 Nebraska Agricultural Tax and Management Symposium will be hosted on Thursday, October 10 at the Hothus Convention Center at 3130 Holen Ave. in York, Nebraska. The past year brought new tax laws and a changed economy. Between new opportunities and recent changes in tax, there are many pressing tax issues facing the farmer, rancher and their advisors. Topics include farm/business succession planning, tax reform, basis assets, farm/business structures and foreign reporting.

Learning Objectives: By attending this seminar, participants will be able to:
• Explore unique opportunities and pitfalls impacting taxpayers in the agriculture industry.
• Implement real-world interpretations of recent federal tax law changes as they apply to farm and ranch clients
• Recognize general rules for C to S corporation conversions and review them in the context of a detailed example.
• Identify how to properly account for and report payments due to prevented planting, MFP and disaster provisions.
• Review the importance and application of significant case law and rulings related to agricultural taxation.
