UNO star Sami Spenner was named the Summit League’s female athlete of the month for February on Thursday. The honor marks a league-record fourth time that any one athlete has won the award.
In February, Spenner set three new school records at the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Columbus, Neb. native also set the American collegiate record in the pentathlon with 4,498 points, finishing runner-up to Olympian Sharon Day-Monroe. Her score of 4,498 points ranks sixth all-time.
