On a day when UNO and IPFW produced plenty of offense — combining for 32 runs and 52 hits — the Mavericks’ pitchers helped make the difference in their 8-5 and 13-6 doubleheader sweep Saturday at the Ballpark at Boys Town.

With UNO clinging to a 4-3 fourth-inning lead in the opener, Sam Murphy (2-1) came on in relief to hold the Mastodons in check. He tossed 21⁄3 scoreless innings to get the win while Cale Palensky, a senior from Papillion-La Vista South, drove in three runs and scored twice.
