Topham, Zimmerman set records at Junior Olympics

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Rebekah Topham and Derek Zimmerman set records during the last two days to lead Nebraska Association athletes at the USA Track and Field National Junior Olympics at North Carolina A&T.

Topham, of Griswold, Iowa and the Cornhusker Flyers Track Club, won the 17-18 age group 800 (2:12.51) and 1,500 (4:30.33). Zimmerman, who is from Filley and competes for Tachyon Athletik, topped his own association record in the 17-18 triple jump with a leap of 48-4 3/4 while finishing fourth.
