Tangerine is sweet legacy of Engelhardt
Bill Engelhardt led college football in total offense in 1954, running the single wing offense at Omaha University. Engelhardt helped direct the Indians to a 10-0 season capped by a Tangerine Bowl victory.

As Rudy Rotella watched a video Thursday of the Tangerine Bowl that took place nearly 60 years ago, memories came flooding back.
He thought hard about that unbeaten football season of 1954, the only one in University of Nebraska at Omaha history. The visit to the White House after edging Eastern Kentucky 7-6 before 12,759 on New Year’s night in Orlando, Fla. A parade in Omaha when they got home.
