NFL running back Danny Woodhead from North Platte, Neb., was a hit with autograph-seekers after he took part in a golfing exhibition Wednesday at the Omaha Country Club. Woodhead, 28, signed a two-year contract with the Chargers in the offseason after three seasons with the Patriots.

San Diego Chargers running back Danny Woodhead is known for his athleticism and versatility on the field, performing in many different roles and situations. Three seasons with the New England Patriots solidified him as a dangerous hybrid threat.
Woodhead demonstrated last week that he’s more versatile than people might realize — he also has a decent golf game. He put his skills to the test along with Husker legend Eric Crouch and golfers Hale Irwin and Fred Funk in an exhibition on Wednesday at the U.S. Senior Open at Omaha Country Club. That’s where we caught up with Woodhead, an all-stater at North Platte and an All-American at Chadron State who lives in the Omaha area during the offseason.
