WBO lightweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford told Yuriorkis Gamboa in the press conference announcing his first title defense more than a month ago that he shouldn’t have taken the fight.

“And I meant that from the bottom of my heart,” he said late Saturday at the CenturyLink Center.
