The Ralston Police Department made 137 traffic stops during its week-long Click It or Ticket campaign from May 20 to June 2.
Officers had contact with 266 people which resulted in the following citations and violations: 13 for seat belt, 25 for speeding, seven for no proof of insurance and one for reckless driving.
Police also arrested several people for unlawful activity: five for driving under suspension, two for driving under the influence, four for outstanding warrants and six for drug violations.
Ralston police had six officers working 74 hours of overtime in addition to the usual number of officers that were on duty, Deputy Chief Marc Leonardo said in a press release.
During the nationwide special enforcement period, Ralston police also made several other arrests: one person for possession of methamphetamine, one for unlawful intrusion, one for felony theft by develop and unauthorized use of a financial transaction device and one for obstructing a peace officer and false reporting.
The Nebraska Office of Highway Safety provided a $3,500 grant, which will pay overtime salary wages and mileage for vehicles used.
