The Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation is accepting nominations for its Hall of Fame.
Awards will be presented at the foundation’s annual Gala on Aug. 23 at Embassy Suites in La Vista.
The Hall of Fame recognizes standout members of the Papillion-La Vista community with awards in the following categories:
• Distinguished Alumni —This award acknowledges alumni who have distinguished themselves in their careers through exemplary public service.
Last year’s winners were Sharon Goff Northrup, ‘60, and Cathy Murphy Evers, ‘76.
• Legendary Educator — This award is for teachers and staff members who have made a positive impact on the lives they encountered.
Last year’s winners were Henry “Hank” Alfrey, Bev Ruff and Roger Miller.
• Community Booster — This award is for those who have shown outstanding support of the district through private support or service.
Last year’s winners were LouAnn and K Campbell and the Papillion-La Vista Chapter of the TeamMates Mentoring Program.
“We take pride in recognizing those in our community who truly embody the spirit of the Papillion-La Vista School District. These individuals are making a difference not just in our schools, but in our communities and in the lives of thousands of students, staff and alumni,” John Erickson, executive director of the Papillion-La Vista Schools Foundation, said in a press release.
