T-birds get three shutout wins during perfect week

Bellevue West's three-win week was highlighted by a shutout victory over cross-town rival Bellevue East.

The Thunderbirds (8-6) topped the Chieftains 3-0 Thursday at West giving them four straight wins to get them back over the .500 mark.

Madi Braun, Emily Romero and Courtney Wallingford each found the back of the net for West in the win over East.

Goalie MacKenzie Fletcher kept the Chieftains scoreless and stopped a penalty kick in the second half to persevere the shutout.

The T-birds also added shutout wins over Omaha North (10-0) and Gross (1-0) on the week.

Madison Lambert led West with a hat trick in the win over the Vikings with Romero adding a pair of goals. Solo goals were scored by Kelsi Smith Morgan Keith, Christina Baxter, Wallingford and Mackenzie Fletcher.

In the win over the Cougars, Baxter scored a goal early in the first half that stood the rest of the way. Whitney Dockweiler snagged six saves on the way to the blank sheet in goal.

Other results:

Platteview 4, Ralston 1 - Whitney Pratt notched a hat trick for the Trojans in their first round win in the Ralston Invite.

Sydney Nolte added the final goal for the Trojans who used two second half goals to extend their 2-1 halftime lead.

Livia Dwornicki score the Rams' only goal.

Abe Lincoln 1, Platteview 0 - The Lynx squeaked out the win with a goal in the 52nd minute to win the Ralston Invite.

The Trojans added a 9-1 win over Conestoga during the week in regular season play.

Norfolk 2, Ralston 1 - The Rams were defeated in the third place game after two Norfolk goals in the second half erased the 1-0 Ram lead at halftime.

Rachel Buswell provided the lone tally for the Rams.

Ralston 6, South Sioux City 2 - The Rams broke a 2-all tie at halftime with four second half goals.

Sierra Athow and Sabrina Johnson led the way with two goals apiece. Jordyn Arehart and Kati Johnston each added a solo goal in the conference win.

Omaha Central 3, Bryan 0 - The Bears couldn't get their offense going against the Eagles, who scored twice in the second half to put the game away.

Lincoln Northeast 2, Bryan 0 - The Bryan offense continued to struggle in its second shutout loss of the week.

Lincoln Southwest 4, Papillion-La Vista 3 - Lincoln Southwest outscored the Monarchs 2-1 in the second half after the two teams played to a 2-all tie in the first.

Jocelyn Gillespie found the net twice to lead the Monarchs with Miranda Swift adding the other goal.

Millard North 2, Papillion-La Vista 0 - Two second half goals gave the Mustangs the win.

Skutt 4, Gretna 0 - No. 3 Skutt exploded for four second half goals to defeat the No. 2 Dragons April 22.

Gretna 2, Columbus Scotus 0 - The Dragons bounced back from its Skutt loss with a win over No. 6 Scotus.

Bella Arkfeld and Mackenzie Burmeister each scored a goal in the first half to lead the Dragons. Jennifer Grigsby got the shutout win in goal.

Mercy 1, Gross 0 - Mercy got a goal off a corner kick in the first half and the Cougars couldn't answer.

Gross 2, Bennington 0 - The Cougar offense woke up with two goals in the second half to grab the win.

Kayla Johnk and Alex Homan each scored for the Cougars and Alex Tooley recorded the shutout in goal.

Westside 3, P-LV South 1 - Westside scored a pair of second half goals to cushion its 1-0 lead at halftime.
