Bryan advanced to the championship game of the lower division of the Metro Conference Boys Soccer Tournament last week.
Victories over Northwest and Bellevue East put the Bears in the final game opposite Millard South. The game was scheduled for Monday evening, but was postponed until Tuesday because of the weather.
Martin Gonzalez notched a hat trick to lead the Bears past Northwest 7-1 in Thursday’s opener. Marlon Vega, Roberto Rocha, Aaron Rodriguez and Jose Chavez also nothced goals while Rocha and Amador Rangel each had a pair of assists.
Eduardo Roldan notched five saves in Bryan’s 3-0 shutout of Bellevue East Saturday afternoon.
The offense was provided by Gonzalez, Rodriguez and Juan Torres as each player had one goal.
In other Metro Tournament results:
Bellevue East 2, Benson 1 - The Chieftains were able to notch two goals in the final 10 minutes to rally past the Bunnies in Thursday’s opener.
Down 1-0, East evened the match on a Josh Prokupek goal in the 70th minute.
Six minutes later, Noah Bishop knocked in what proved to be the winning goal for the Chieftains.
Millard South 2, Bellevue West 0 - The Patriots blanked the Thunderbirds in Thursday’s opener.
Bellevue West 3, Omaha North 0 - West bounced back with a consolation victory Saturday.
Josue Robles had a goal and two assists in the win while goals were also scored by Will Fielin and Conner Beyersdorf.
Papillion-La Vista 6, North 1 - Six different Monarch players registered goals in the opening round victory.
Thalles Silva-Santos, Tyler Cox, JT Reiser, Tyler Krajewski, Zach Schaewe and Eduardo Quintana each found the back of the net in the blowout.
Millard South 2, P-LV 1 - Silva-Santos notched Papio’s only goal in the semifinal setback.
Westside 3, P-LV South 2 - Westside needed a shootout to outlast the Titans in Thursday’s upper bracket opener.
Eric Rasmussen notched both Titan goals in the defeat with Cullen Fisch recording 12 saves on the afternoon.
Regular season matches:
Millard North 4, Bryan 3 - Millard North notched a goal in the first overtime to edge the Bears.
Gonzalez, Rangel and Rodriguez each had goals in the loss with Rangel also dishing out an assist. Roldan turned away 10 shots on goal.
Creighton Prep 2, Papio South 1 - The Junior Jays got a shootout victory over the Titans April 8.
Fisch turned away 20 shots during the match while Kaleb Ethington recorded the only Titan goal.
The Titans also dropped a 2-0 verdict to Lincoln Pius X on April 7.
P-LV 2, Bellevue West 1 - The Monarchs got a late goal in regulation to tie the match, then scored early in the first overtime for the win.
Cox and BJ Frankman provided the offense with a goal apiece and Nate Frankman lifted the defense by turning away nine shots in goal.
