• Participate in a walk/run to benefit Wounded Warriors Family Support and the Papillion-La Vista High School’s fine arts department.

The second annual Papillion-La Vista Fine Arts Hero 5K Run and 1-Mile Run/Walk will begin at 8 a.m. at the Papillion-La Vista Stadium and loop through Walnut Creek Recreation Area.

Participation for adults is $18. Children and students cost $12. Families of two adults and up to five children will pay $55. Single entrants (not groups or families) can register online at

Participants may dress as their favorite superhero to show their support of Wounded Warriors.

• Dozens of costumed characters and one-of-a-kind artisans await you when you step back in time at the 12th season of the Nebraska Renaissance Faire at the Bellevue Berry Farm, 1101 S. 48th St.

Opening weekend, themed as “Combat & Battles,” runs through Sunday, and is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Throughout the faire, a continuous schedule of music, comedy, juggling and amazing feats of skill are presented on four unique stages.

Tickets are $12 for adults or $7 for children ages 3 to 12. Tickets can be purchased in advance at or at FairyTail Costumes at the Crossroads Mall, 72nd and Dodge streets. For more information, call 402-331-5500.

• Farrell’s Extreme Bodyshaping, 7428 Eastport Parkway in La Vista, is donating their gym to the Rah Rah 4 Tatas fundraiser for Project Pink’d from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The suggested donation for a 40-minute class, each starting at the top of each hour, is $5 for Farrell’s Members and $15 for nonmembers.

Or, register for all five classes for $20 for members and $40 for nonmembers. At the door, a suggested donation is $10 more than the class cost. Every participant is eligible for door prizes. For more information, visit!/events/1435602186681887/
