• The Bellevue Public Library is celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day all day long.
The event begins at 9:15 a.m. with a meet and greet with Sukki the dog, followed by a Pawsitive Reading session from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. with Sukki.
Brody and Pepper will be at the library from 2 to 3 p.m. for a second session of Pawsitive Reading followed by a meet and greet with the dogs. Registration is required for this event.
Legos at your Library will run 1 to 3 p.m. Due to choking hazards, children must be at least 4 years old to participate.
There will be all-day activities including a scavenger hunt, a bookmark craft, guessing game for a chance to win prizes and a chance to pose with books for a READ poster.
The library is located at 1003 Lincoln Road.
• The famous 1925 Scopes “Monkey” Trial, took place after a high school science teacher was accused of violating Tennessee’s Butler Act, which made it illegal to teach evolution.
Papillion-La Vista South High School will present the play based off the trial, “Inherit the Wind,” at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students and seniors and $4 for children.
