The Bellevue Senior Center has been under new management since September. Regan Tingelhoff, originally from Niobrara, Neb., is now the center manager.

She said she has been learning her way around, but wants to begin marketing the center to Bellevue’s seniors.

“My focus is to bring in more seniors,” Tingelhoff said. “I want to hear what the seniors have to say and do more activities in the future.”

As a retired member of the Air Force, Tingelhoff has traveled the world, including Japan, Cuba and Korea. After retirement she chose to live nearer her family, which lives in Council Bluffs and Omaha.

She said her military and travel experience gave her the ability to relate to different people, including the retired military community, which is well represented in Bellevue.

Tingelhoff has an associate’s degree in hotel, fitness and restaurant management, and was a dietary assistant and event planner at the Rose Blumkin Jewish Home.

“I genuinely like people,” she said. “I have worked with a diverse group, and I can work with almost everybody.”
