Hunters eager to start pheasant season

MALCOLM, Neb. — In the moments before the official start of Nebraska's pheasant season, Joe Swartz stood quietly on the edge of a field of tall, dry grass watching his hunting party gather in the glow of the early morning light.
“What time is it?” asked Brian Allen, Swartz's nephew.
