They marched to Berlin. They marched to Tokyo. So the politics of a government shutdown wasn’t going to keep World War II veterans from marching to the national memorial built to honor them.
Groups of veterans from Mississippi and Iowa had arrived in Washington on Honor Flights only to find the memorial closed Tuesday.
