The U.S. Postal Service can deliver the mail through snow, rain, heat and gloom of night — but the flood of red ink is too much. It cannot continue to lose billions of dollars a year.
The Postal Service’s plan to stop delivering mail on Saturdays is the very definition of a tough choice. But it is necessary to help reduce those losses.
