For decades, Omaha’s city government has met its local street and sewer needs by putting together a bond package, usually every four years, and asking voters for approval.
The process has served the city well. Voters have regularly given a thumb’s up; streets were then paved and sewers repaired; the city managed the finances well; and the next bond package was then prepared, using the city’s regularly updated list of priorities.
