The Friends of Omaha Public Library honored 12 young people this month for their excellence in writing. Youths in grades five through eight were given certificates of achievement and cash prizes as part of the annual Virginia Frank Memorial Writing Contest.
Students were asked to write an essay about a library or librarian as the subject. All essays are available to read at omahalibrary.org/teenspace.
