Trial date only days away for Beatrice Six who were wrongly convicted

LINCOLN — Sheriff's deputies in Beatrice, Neb., took over a dead-end rape and murder investigation in 1989 and ultimately helped convict six people who didn't commit the crime.
Federal jurors soon will be asked to decide whether authorities violated the civil rights of the Beatrice Six by conducting an investigation so reckless that it “shocked the conscience.”
