Even though the search has been called off for a 70-foot U.S. schooner missing in the South Pacific, the sister of a Nebraska crew member says “miracles do happen.”
New Zealand's Rescue Coordination Center said last week that it had carried out extensive aerial searches over 11 days but had found no sign of the Nina, a life raft or the Nina's seven-member crew, which included Kyle Jackson, 27, of Long Pine, Neb.
