WASHINGTON - The Senate on Friday approved a measure to keep the government running beyond Monday after first stripping out language that would have eliminated funding for the new health care law.
The legislation now heads back to the House of Representatives, which is expected to work over the weekend in an effort to avoid a government shutdown when current spending authorizations expire Monday night.
