Contamination that threatens drinking water in York has prompted the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to make the community a national priority for cleanup.
York was added this week to the National Priorities List because of the risk to residential drinking water, said Ben Washburn, an EPA spokesman. The designation is more commonly known as a Superfund site.
